To travel to Madeira is one of the most impressive experiences that we can find for ours holidays in Portugal. It is a question of an island in which it is possible to enjoy his beautiful sceneries, his beaches, the big variety of his flora and his fauna and the spirit of his nations. Undoubtedly, a visit that is worth doing.
To come to the island of Madeira, we have two possibilities:
- In plane: the island has airport, for what there is no problem in coming up to her in this transport way. In fact, Lisbon and Funchal have direct connection, and there are flights that come from the peninsula up to the island without problems.
- In ferry: in addition to which it receives the visit of ships of cruises, Madeira is also accessible in ferry.
Of course, what we cannot allow visiting is Funchal, his capital. His steep streets are one of his signs of identity. In the historical nucleus of the city, in which there are imposing mansions of the XVIIIth century, they emphasize also governmental buildings. Brave Ribeira (in which we can visit São Bento, one of the churches that are better preserved in the whole island) and Ponta do Sun are two beautiful tourist localities placed on the South coast.

And a curiosity: in Santana there can be seen his triangular houses constructed on a base of two beams in triangular form, which have his origin in the XVIth century.
