Guidebook of Tozeur, in Tunisia

Tozeur is a beautiful locality placed to the south of Tunisia, which opens to us to the way towards the desert and which although it is not one of the tourist destinations most known in this area (Marrakesh, for example, takes big part of the leading role) is an ideal place to know.

One of the advantages of this area is that, as it happens with other destinations, as it is the case of White Top, you can choose the winter to visit it, since the temperatures are excellent, even better than in summer, when the heat can turn out to be even excessive.

December is a good moment to visit it, since there takes place the Festival of the oases and the International Festival of the Cultures in Douz, which is a very nearby locality.

The principal attractions of Tozeur are an oasis and his houses of mud, a different way of knowing Morocco that is not present usually in the big tourist routes.

Uled Hadef is one of the most interesting quarters, in which we can find mosques, more than advisable museum of the Arts and Traditions and callecitas you take in that it is an authentic pleasure to cover, to know how the life is in this place.

Chott the-Jerid is a salty lake that the tourists usually visit. And the fact is that in the Tozeur surroundings we can find really beautiful corners, like Chenini and Matmata, the cannon of Midès or Chebika and his palm forest.

Certainly, a curiosity: in this area there is Onk Ejjmel, which you will sound if you have seen the pwlícula The English patient, since it is the place that it was flying over with his light aircraft.

There is no doubt that the whole Tunisia is an exciting destination, in which we can enjoy sceneries of big beauty, of a privileged climate and of places so magic as Tozeur. One of these places in which it seems that the time stops.
