The Palace of Vaux de Vicomte in Paris

In Paris, the whole reputation takes the Palace of Versailles. But: do you know that to construct this great complex they were inspired in another less well-known palace?. An elegant palace that is at least of one hour in train of Paris. It is a question of the Palace of Vaux de Vicomte, a masterpiece of the baroque, with a spectacular garden.

Palace of Vaux de Vicomte

And the fact is that Paris is a glorious city, from which sometimes it is necessary to rest a little. Let's go out of her one day, and let's visit Him Vaux de Vicomte, one of the most beautiful places of the world. We can happen the morning discovering the castle and the gardens, have lunch in l'Ecureuil, the elegant local restaurant, and remain here the whole evening for a visit guided in view of the sails. It is possible to do all this, and to be to the return in Paris for the hour of having dinner.

In 1658, Nicolás Fouquet, minister of finance of Luis XIV, hired the architect Luis Levau and the painter and decorator Charles le Brun to create an incredible masterpiece, the Palace of Vaux de Vicomte. Andre le Notre was who designed the gardens.

Not a lot of time after Luis XIV finished this palace, on August 17, 1661, together with many other aristocrats known of the epoch, they were present at the opening of the same one. Fouquet and his wife improvised a holiday that it inspired in the real celebrations of hundred following years. There were games, spectacles, musicians, exotic meal and wine. And to finish the day, a fireworks spectacle.

Although Fouquet was known like an intelligent man, he forgot a very important element when he planned the holiday: the humility. Tremendously jealous of Fouquet and of his palace, king Luis XIV and his ministers decided that only the king, and nothing more that he, a residence as luxurious could allow itself as that. And so, Luis XIV invented a series of accusations on embezzlement of funds of Fouquet, who spent the rest of his life in the jail.
Nevertheless, we have left the Fouquet legacy in the shape of this impressive palace and his gardens, which have remained without changes since it was constructed. Instead of kings and queens, everybody can come to visit this marvel. I advise you it to do in summer, when visits guided in the nights are done, in view of the sails, and sometimes, classical music concerts take place.

The children love this palace, because he seems literally extracted of a fairy tale. On having entered the palace, you have even the possibility of dressing your son in the suits of the epoch, and of extracting a photo.
